Painting Begins

After spending yesterday morning shampooing furniture I took the girls to the zoo to celebrate Mel's 10th birthday. We ran a million errands and ended up at the new house around 7:30 and began taping. Our plan is to paint today and tomorrow. Hey, if you want to join us we would love the company.

Early Morning Encouragement

I was awakened early this morning and then unable to go back to sleep. So about 4am I got up and decided to read. I pick up a small book that I started reading months ago but never finished. It is written by a puritan minister who died in 1635, the book is entitled The Bruised Reed. I love the content of this book but I have to admit I have struggled through some of the language. The portion I wanted to share with you written more simply and subsequently easier for me to grasp. It touched my heart and I thought that it may encourage you as well.

"Suffering brings discouragements, because of our impatience. 'Alas!', we lament, 'I shall never get through such a trial.' But if God brings us into the trial he will be with us in the trial, and at length bring us out, more refined. We shall lose nothing but dross (see also Zech 13:9). From our own strength we cannot bear the least trouble, but by the Spirit's assistance we can bear the greatest. The Spirit will add his shoulders to bear our infirmities."

Emma is turning 4 years old on Saturday! She has been asking to go to the beach even before her 3rd birthday. Last year we moved back home on her birthday so we weren't able to do the beach then. This year it works out that we can go but only for the day.

I was thinking of going to Seaside but it turns out that there is a big kite festival on this weekend and Jason isn't fond of big crowds. I was really wanting to go to Newport but that is a lot of driving for one day and four kids. Do any of you have any suggestions?

Keep Our Number

Our moving date seems to be changing daily. So that is why I haven't put it up to let anyone know for sure because I didn't want to yank you all around. We are slowly packing and have about 1/2 of the house packed. It is always the last bit that is the hardest for me because it is the odd and end stuff that you don't know how to pack or if it is too soon to pack it. I am trying to make myself pack my bedroom today but I am not very motivated.

Oh...Good news we get to keep our same phone number. So no reprogramming for you, hehe.

We are getting our keys Monday! We plan on putting up the fence and gates up before we move as well as paint the main floor and powder room. I am so exited to get in their and it will be ours.

Boxes

Do you have boxes?

I would really love it if I could use them for our move. I am heading out this morning to gather up some to keep me going for now but, I don't want to spend too much time hunting them down. So if you have some please let me know.

Thanks guys.

Artificial Flavoring

Melanie and I were at Fred Myers this morning when it opened at 7am. We are planning on heading up to Longview where they have an annual neighborhood garage sale by Rick and Bonnie's house. I was in Freddies getting a treat for Breakfast and our early morning car ride. Melanie was helping pick out muffins (but ended up to be donuts) and yogurt. I told her to pick out the flavor she liked and she said, "Mom I have told you a thousand times I don't like yogurt." My response to her was, "I thought you ate Gogurts." She then said something that I found so funny I laughed out load and cringed at the same time. She said, "I only like the kinds with artificial flavoring."

Tami I have a long way to go, girl.

Growing Old

There are many things that I don't mind about growing old. I don't mind the fact that it is easier for me to enjoy the moment more than I used too. I don't mind sitting around talking about old times and gasping about the outrageous fuel prices. I don't even mind that my oldest child is going to be taller than me before I know it. But what I do mind is these aches and pains that seem to keep me awake at night. This is my grand thought of the day, hehe.

We Are Home Owners!

It is official we actually own our very first home. They asked if we could come in 4 days early to sign. We just got back from signing papers and closing. We also got good news we are able to move next weekend. I am not sure if we will or not yet. We may want to paint first and put up our fence. Also, we met the seller as we were leaving. She told us that our next door neighbors is a pastor and the man on the other side of him is a police officer. I am so excited.

Solution to Camera delema

I know this isn't profound but sometimes simple solutions to problems evade me. I realized that I can just take my memory stick into a store and have a CD made so I can post my pictures that way.

Also, check back at my blog soon. I will have some news to share. No, I am not pregnant. I know that is what you are thinking, hehe.

A Friend With A Camera

I need a friend with a cameras help!

We misplaced the cords that go from our camera to our computer. So we aren't able to download our pictures.

We are trying to sell things on craigslist and it doesn't work well without pictures. My sister helped me out one day by taking my memory stick home with her and downloaded my pics on her computer and then e-mailed them to me.

I would really like to be able to sell everything before we move so we can get it out of our way and so I can set some money aside to buy things we need for our new house.

Thanks.

What I Am Reading

I am reading Instrument in the Redeemer's Hands. The subtitle of the book is, People in Need of Change Helping People in Need of Change.

I have long been perplexed on how I can be of service to God in someones life when I don't have it all figured out yet. I feel like a building under major construction with saw dust piles everywhere. I have been concerned for the safety of those who come on my work sight. I don't want to hurt them in my ignorance or immaturity. I have wrongly thought that someone may look to me for hope or the answers. My goal and aim should be to point to Christ. God will never be finished working on this building until we reach those pearly gates, however, what a wonderful opportunity to show people the way the Master Carpenter works but being vulnerable and showing them how HE works in us.

I started this blog wanted to give a short plug for the book that has spurred me on but instead I have shared something a bit different. I guess that is the way most of my conversations goes doesn't it. Anyway, it is a good book by Paul David Tripp and I highly recommend it.

I am writing this late at night so if I don't make sense please forgive me. Love you all.

Piano

Do you know anyone that wants to buy my piano. I have posted on craigslist but friends are awesome at passing the word. I am asking $300. It was built in 1916 by the Milton Piano company. Needs some replacement ivory for the keys, if you want. Could use a tune. If you are having kids practice on you, you may want to wait to make repairs until they are, well...a bit older or more accomplished, hehe. But overall the case in in good shape and has a great sound.
